Aside from birth, another passion of mine is gifting. Gift basket are LIFE!
Who doesn’t love a carefully crafted gift basket? I put a lot of thought into mine. Each piece has meaning and serves a purpose.
It Takes a Village Basket
I made this basket for when my own doula had her first child. She was rather new in town again, after living in NYC for the previous 10 years. A city which had an amazing birth worker scene, while sweet southern jersey just wasn’t up to par quite yet. I knew for her, much like myself, having a village or tribe of supportive mothers was super important! I wanted her to feel just as loved and supported as I felt from her during my own birth. Mind you this was the beginning of my doula journey! Kelly was my inspiration. It all started when I attended a childbirth class of hers. I’ve hit the ground running ever since. So I wanted this gift to be truly special.
I asked our friends and colleagues to pitch in either a cash donation, item, or service. They did not disappoint! Mommy & Me yoga classes, massage, reiki, housekeeping, food, and extremely useful postpartum and self-care items.
This basket was awesome. She loved it. I can make one for you if you’d like me to!
Birth Team Gifts
L&D Gift Bags. These were a big hit in the hospital! This particular one came full of intentional puns/play on words to keep the energy light and happy. It worked! We had enough to give the entire floor, about 12 bags.
Snacks, tea, and useful items like hair ties, pens, expo markers, and mints. Other items you can include are things like lip balms, lotions, or hand sanitizer.
